Individuals may submit resumes on our Sites or through email.  All applicant information is considered Personal Information and treated confidentially by Backbone Commercial and only accessed by Backbone Commercial personnel involved in the hiring process for a particular position as well as personnel of the technology providers who require access in instances of maintenance and operational enhancements.

 

The term “Other Information” for purposes of this Privacy Policy is any information that does not reveal your specific identity or does not directly relate to an identifiable individual, including but not limited to, browser and device information, payment details, usage data, information collected through cookies, pixel tags, and similar technologies, aggregated information, usernames and passwords, purchase history, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating systems, and platforms.

 

If we are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information under applicable law, then we may use and disclose it for the purposes for which we use and disclose Personal Information as detailed in this Privacy Policy.

 

The term “Information” refers collectively to Personal Information and Other Information.

In some newsletters or email communications, we may monitor recipient actions such as email open rates through embedded links within the message. If you do not wish us to confirm whether you have opened, clicked on, or forwarded our communications, you should unsubscribe to them.

How We Store, Use and Disclose Personal Information

 

Our website is hosted on the Wix.com platform which allows us to share information about and sell our products, services, and other deliverables to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by Backbone Commercial adhere to the standards set by Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (“PCI-DSS”) as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

We disclose Personal Information as defined in this Privacy Policy:

 

  • To our employees, contractors, agents, designees, and affiliates when there is a business purpose for such disclosure and to provide services, products, and other deliverables to you or your organization.

  • To our third-party service providers, to facilitate services they provide to us (such as for website hosting, data analysis, information technology, customer service, email delivery, auditing and other services related to meeting our customer needs).

  • To marketing companies providing marketing services to Backbone Commercial.

  • To comply with applicable laws and regulations, subpoenas, legal process, government investigations or inquiries, to cooperate with law enforcement and other government authorities, to assert or defend legal claims, and to protect our and others’ rights, property and safety.

  • For the purposes of crime and fraud prevention and remediation we may share data with law enforcement, regulatory or government agencies and/or independent regulatory bodies.

We do not sell any personal information to any other person or entity.

 

We may disclose Other Information for any purpose, except where we are required to do otherwise under applicable law. 

 

In some instances, we may combine Other Information with Personal Information. If we do, we will treat the combined information as Personal Information as long as it is combined.

 

We may aggregate or anonymize your Personal Information so that it will not longer be considered Personal Information, in which case we may use the resulting data for our use and disclose it for any purpose.

 

Please note that any information you post or disclose through social media, message boards, chat features, profile pages, or blogs will become public and may be available to other users and the general public.

 

Communications and Withdrawing Consent

 

You may request to be added to Backbone Commercial’s databases to receive alerts, notifications, information and announcements by mail and email. To be added, you must complete an online form and furnish your name, title, credit union, business phone number, and email address, and services of interest. In accordance with applicable law, we enable individuals to opt out of receiving marketing, job application and other discretionary communications, as well as update their contact information and preferences.

 

Even if you withdraw your consent, we may still have other legal grounds for processing your data as set forth above.  In addition, we may contact you to troubleshoot problems, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees owed to us, to send updates about us, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our Terms and Conditions, applicable laws and regulations, and any other agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and mail.

 

Use of Online Technologies to Collect Information

 

We may use technologies to store information on your computer when you visit our Sites, including cookies and other similar technologies, including web beacons, pixel tags, and web analytics.  Please refer to our Cookie Policy for more information.

 

We are not responsible for the information collection, use, disclosure or security policies or practices of other organizations, such as Facebook, Apple, Google, Microsoft, or any other app developer, app provider, social media platform provider, operating system provider, wireless service provider or device manufacturer, including with respect to any Personal Information you disclose to other organizations through or in connection with the Sites or social media.

 

Links to Third-Party Websites

 

Our Sites may have links or direct you to third-party websites that may be of interest to you. We are not responsible for ensuring any third-party website is consistent with this Privacy Policy or that the third-party complies with applicable laws or regulations or their own privacy policy. Backbone Commercial is not responsible for the content on any third-party website.

 

Security

 

The security of your personal information is important to us. We seek to use reasonable physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect the information we have access to, store and process. Despite those efforts, security cannot be guaranteed against all threats. No method of transferring data over the Internet or storing electronic data is completely secure. We seek to limit access to your Personal Information to those who have a need to know and train those individuals to maintain the confidentiality of such information.

 

Our Site is Not Directed to Children

 

Our Sites are not directed to children under eighteen (18) years of age, and Backbone Commercial does not knowingly collect Personal Information from such children. If you are younger than 18, please do not provide any Personal Information while using our Sites.

 

Business Transfers

 

We reserve the right to transfer any and all Information that we collect from you, or that we otherwise collect in connection with the Sites if we sell or transfer the assets of any portion of our business. Governing Law and Forum

 

The laws of the State of South Carolina govern this Privacy Policy. Any dispute relating to this Privacy Policy or your use of our website shall be resolved solely in the state or federal courts located in Columbia, South Carolina. If any provision of this Privacy Policy is held to be unenforceable, such provision will be reformed only to the extent necessary to make it enforceable.
